Welcome to the Rotary Club of Wauchope

The Rotary sausage sizzle.

The Rotary Club of Wauchope is within Zone 8 of Rotary International in District 9650. Our club is one of six clubs in the Hastings Region on the mid north coast of New South Wales. Our club commenced its operations in 1952.

We have over 30 members in our club and are always keen to expand our membership. Around one third of our members are women and we have a number of Rotarian’s who are partners in our club. Our members come from all walks of life, representing a range of different professions.

We are an active club meeting weekly for dinner at our own rooms. Once a month, we hold a ‘pub night’ where we attend a restaurant, pub or club in Wauchope for dinner.

We actively pursue the Rotary motto of ‘Service above Self’. This service to others less fortunate is done in friendship. The camaraderie within our Rotary family is strong.

Rotarians are expected to demonstrate high ethical standards in their business & private lives. We are guided by “The Four Way Test” which states:

Of the things we think, say, or do:

  1. Is it the truth?
  2. Is it fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build goodwill & better friendship?
  4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Rotary is a not for profit service organisation that is non political, non religious & non sexist. Rotary exists to alleviate the suffering of those who, for various reasons, can’t help themselves. Through the ideal of Service above Self & high ethical standards, Rotary aims to achieve world peace & understanding.

In summation, Rotary is a vast, well structured service club, whose members maintain high ethical standards in business & personal dealings. Rotarians believe that through “Service above Self,” we can achieve world peace & mutual respect among all nations. This may not occur in our lifetime, but it will occur. The Rotary Club of Wauchope is proud to be a part of this long standing international service organisation.
