Rotary International is an organisation based on service and fellowship. As part of the desire to serve the community the Rotary Club of Wauchope built the Wauchope Rotary Youth Hall at 1/10 Oxley Lane. Built on crown land the hall is now owned by Port Macquarie Hastings Council and operated by the S355 Committee who are volunteers that want to keep the community hall accessible for use by locals for locals.
The hall can hold up to 200 people and is wheelchair accessible. Hire of the hall includes the use of its 24 tables, 160 chairs and the commercial kitchen which houses an urn, 2 stoves, a microwave, fridge, assorted cutlery, crockery and tableware. Cost for hiring the hall is as low as $10 per hour for "not for profit" organisations provided the hall is left clean and undamaged after use.
Some organisations, other than the Rotary Club of Wauchope, who take advantage of this affordable hall hire are the Probus Club of Wauchope, the Wauchope Girl Guides and the Wauchope Patchwork Quilters. Mothers and pre-school play groups, social dances, discos, Zumba lessons, fitness and exercise classes, music tuition sessions, community meetings, family reunions and birthday parties are also all run regularly at the hall as it is so close to town with ample off street parking and is next to Bain Park which has a wonderful enclosed children’s playground and a cafe.
For more information regarding hiring the hall for your next function or on-going weekly gathering please contact Marie Winter. She is an amazing Rotarian and the hall facilitator and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or ring her on 0409 156 333.
